FIXR SYSTEMS

The person building it is the person you speak to

Fixr Systems is Ben Criddle. Every site, booking system and automation on this site was designed and built by the same pair of hands, in Cambridge, for businesses mostly the size of yours.

Why this, and not something else

I have started several businesses. This is the one I kept, because it is the work I would do anyway. What I am actually interested in is problem solving and building structure with intent, and a website or a system is exactly that: somebody has a problem, and the answer is a thing that has to be designed so every part of it earns its place.

How I think about the work

  • A website is not decoration. It is a structure with a job, and every decision in it should come back to whether it does that job. If a page is not helping somebody find you, understand you or contact you, it is in the way.
  • The interesting part is under the surface. Anyone can make a page look tidy. Making the booking flow hold up when two people book the same slot, or making four hundred local pages that Google trusts, is where the actual craft is.
  • I would rather be told the truth than be sold to, so that is how I write and how I quote. If something will not work, I say so before it is built rather than after.

Where AI actually fits

The future of small business is going to involve AI, and the businesses that use it to streamline and scale will move faster than the ones that do not. That is not the same as handing it the wheel.

Used properly it removes the repetitive work that eats an owner's week: the confirmations, the follow-ups, the chasing, the admin nobody wanted to do anyway. The judgement stays with the person who owns the business, and the machine does the typing.

Whichever you need, both are here

Some people want a product to take away. A site that is theirs, done properly, paid for once, and then it is out of their hands. That is a perfectly good thing to want, and it is exactly what you get.

Other people want somebody in it with them. Somebody who keeps the site working, watches what is ranking, builds the next thing when the business is ready for it, and is on WhatsApp when something breaks. That is the other half of what Fixr does, and a fair few of the builds on this site started as the first and became the second.

I build everything Fixr ships, which means there is nobody to hand you off to and nobody to hide behind. If it is wrong, it is mine to fix.
