What website design costs in the UK

Published openly, before you have to ask for them.

Here is what things cost with Fixr, what moves the price up or down, and how paying works. You can work out roughly where your project sits before you speak to anybody, and everything is quoted as a fixed price before any work starts.

What moves the price

Five things decide where a project lands in those ranges, and you control two of them.

How many pages it needs

A business selling three things across two towns needs fewer pages than one selling eleven across twenty five. The page count follows what people actually search for, which we work out before quoting.

Whether money changes hands on it

A site that takes bookings and payments is a different build from one that takes enquiries. Slots, prices, deposits and the confirmation emails all have to be set up and tested before anybody uses them.

What it has to talk to

Connecting a till, a calendar, an accounts package or a CRM adds work, and it is usually the thing that saves the most time afterwards.

Whether the words and photographs are ready

This is the single biggest thing you control. Having your own photographs and a rough idea of the words moves a build along faster than anything else does.

How much of the old site can be kept

Where the foundations are sound, a rebrand costs less than a rebuild. Where they are not, rebuilding costs less than working around them.

What is in every price

Whatever the figure, these are never extras and never a line on an invoice later.

The domain, the hosting and the code are registered in your name from day one. Every service you sell gets a page, and so do the places you cover, with your Google Business Profile set up or improved alongside them.

Phone, WhatsApp and a form sit on every screen, and the whole thing is built to be quick on a phone, which is how a local customer will open it. One person builds it, and the same person answers afterwards.

How paying works

  • You get a fixed quote in writing against a written scope, and nothing is owed until you have said yes to it.
  • Pay up front, pay a deposit, or split it half and half across the build. Klarna is available on most projects.
  • The price only changes if you ask for something that was not in the scope, and you are told what that costs before it is done.
  • The domain, the hosting and the code are in your name from day one, so what you paid for is yours.

Before you ask

How much does website design cost in the UK?

The firms that publish a price at all run from about £1,400 to £15,000, checked across their own websites on 6 September 2026, and the spread comes from how many pages the site needs and whether it has to take bookings or payments. A new site with Fixr starts from £1,200 and a rebrand of an existing one from £750, quoted as a fixed price against a written scope before anything begins.

Why do quotes for the same website vary so much?

Because they are quotes for different things. A small set of pages built from a template is a different product from a site with a page for each service, the places you cover, a booking system and your Business Profile set up. Ask each quote what is actually inside it and the gap usually explains itself.

How much does SEO cost a month?

SEO with Fixr starts from £250 a month, rolling monthly with no notice period. The first month is weighted towards research and the fixes that matter most, so you see what the demand actually is before committing further.

Is a cheap website worth it?

It depends what you need it to do. If you want a presence and nothing more, a small template site does that. If you want to be found for the things people search and to take enquiries or bookings from it, the structure underneath is what you are paying for, and that is where the difference sits.

What do I pay after the site is live?

The domain and hosting are yours and cost what they cost. Beyond that there is an optional monthly plan covering monitoring, updates, backups and small changes. Nothing is compulsory, and the site is yours either way.

Can I pay in stages?

Yes. Up front, a deposit, or half and half across the build, whichever suits you. Klarna is available on most projects, and the figure you agree at the start is the figure you pay.

Ready when you are.
