Using this website

You are welcome to read anything here and use the free tools. The words, the designs and the code on this site belong to us. Please do not copy them onto another site.

We keep the site accurate and we date the pages so you can see when they were last checked. Anything written about search, rankings or results describes what has happened on work we have done. It is not a promise about what will happen on yours.

Quotes and prices

Every project is quoted as a fixed price before any work starts. You are told what it costs and what that covers, and the number does not move unless you ask for something that was not in the quote.

Prices vary by project, because the work does. A single-page site and a booking system that takes money are not the same job, and pretending otherwise with one rate card would mean overcharging somebody.

We do not bill by the hour. If a build takes longer than expected, that is our problem rather than your invoice.

Paying

How payment is split depends on the project. Some are paid in full up front, some take a deposit before the build starts, and some run fifty-fifty across the project. Whichever applies is agreed in writing before anything begins.

We usually offer Klarna, so the cost can be spread rather than paid in one go.

How a build runs

Most projects take up to two weeks. Some are quicker and some take longer, and the scope decides which. You are told which one yours is before you commit.

We write the copy. From you we usually need images and the basic information about your business, and answers when we ask you something.

Revisions are handled case by case rather than counted. We would rather change something until it is right than argue about which round we are on. What we cannot absorb is a change of direction after the build is done, and that gets quoted separately and honestly.

If we are waiting on you for something and cannot carry on, the timeline moves by however long that takes.

Who owns the work

When the project is paid for in full, it is yours outright: the site, the design, the copy and the code. You are not renting it from us and you are not locked in.

We keep the right to show the work we have done, which is what the case studies on this site are. If there is something about your business you would rather we did not publish, tell us and we will leave it out.

Anything you give us stays yours: your images, your logo, your content. Where a build uses a third-party service, a font or a stock photograph, whatever licence applies to that item applies to it after launch as well.

After launch

Every project comes with a hosting, maintenance and support plan on a monthly retainer. That is what keeps the site online, updated and working, and it covers the running costs behind it. It is the option we recommend, because a site nobody is looking after quietly stops working.

If you would rather not have it, that is fine. We export the project files and hand them over, and you set the hosting up yourself or with somebody else.

If something is wrong

We do not do refunds. If a project is cancelled part way through, the work has already been done and the money paid covers it.

What we do instead is fix it. If you are not happy with what we have built, tell us what is wrong and we will put it right at no cost. That is the whole point of a fixed price: getting it right is our problem, not an extra invoice.

The limits of what we can promise

We build sites and systems to be found, to be used and to bring in enquiries, and we will tell you honestly what we think a build can do. Nobody can guarantee a position on Google, and anybody who does is guessing.

We are not liable for losses outside our control: an outage at a hosting company, a change Google makes, or a service we integrate with changing its own rules. If something like that happens we help you deal with it.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales deal with any dispute about them.

If we change these terms, the date at the foot of this page changes with them. Work already agreed runs on the terms that applied when it was agreed.
