What is SEO for AI?

A website under five months old, named alongside Mary Berry

UK Homesteading is a site we built on a web address registered in May 2026. Search Bing for a recipe for piccalilli pickle, and Copilot writes the answer from two sources. UK Homesteading is the first one shown.

Copilot calls its answer "a consolidated, authoritative recipe based on multiple trusted sources, including UK Homesteading and Mary Berry-style preparations". It then compares the two line by line: "Mary Berry uses 2 tbsp; UK Homesteading uses 50 g". (Source: Bing search, checked 8 October 2026.)

How many times were the two sites quoted?

Microsoft Copilot quoted UK Homesteading 17,900 times and Asbestos Specialists UK 12,000 times. That is 29,900 between 29 July and 7 October 2026, which is ten weeks.

Asbestos Specialists UK was first quoted about two weeks after it launched. UK Homesteading was quoted 4 times on 3 August and 783 times on 27 September. Which pages does Copilot quote most?

Copilot quotes the pages that answer a specific question. On Asbestos Specialists UK, the guide to when asbestos was used and banned in the UK was quoted 6,200 times, and its removal cost report 2,200 times. For asbestos removal cost in the UK, Copilot cites the site alongside Checkatrade.

What do the quoted pages have in common?

Each quoted page answers one question. The asbestos history guide answers when asbestos was banned in the UK, and the cost report answers what removal costs.

Each one gives the answer first. The bramble jelly page opens with the whole method in about 65 words, before anything else.

Each one states exact figures. The bramble jelly page gives 105C as the setting point and 450g of sugar for every 600ml of juice. An AI assistant can lift a figure like that and name where it came from.
