A website for a new business: how a mobile mechanic got his first lead in a week
James had an idea, a logo and a job he was about to leave to start SV Autos, a mobile mechanic business. We planned the business with him, then built the website and the Google Business Profile around that plan. The first lead came through the website about a week after it went live, and within nine weeks the site was on page one of Google for 394 searches, measured in Google Search Console.
The short version
- SV Autos started with an idea and a logo. We built the plan, the website and the Google Business Profile.
- The first lead came through the website about a week after launch.
- A new business needs its offer and prices worked out before the site is built around them.
Starting a new business with an idea and a logo
James, the owner of SV Autos, came to us before the business had launched. He had an idea and a logo he had designed himself. There was no website and no Google listing.
He was leaving his job to do this full time. What he needed was confidence that he could commit to it, and a steady flow of people who needed work done on their car.
Why the business plan came before the website
We started with the business, not the pages. We worked out the pricing, the offer, the positioning and the processes with James, so the foundations were in place before anything was built.
The offer is simple: cheaper and quicker than a garage. James comes to your home or your work, so there are no workshop overheads to pay for, no drop-off and no day lost waiting for a slot.
Every page on the site carries that offer. The prices are shown up front, because a price you can see is part of what makes it quicker.
The website and Google Business Profile we built for SV Autos
We built the whole website in one day. It has a page for every service and a page for every town James covers, 70 pages in all, each one written for what people in that town search for.
We set up his Google Business Profile at the same time, so the business shows on Google Maps as well as in search. Our web design and local SEO were done as one job.
Then we added guides and advice pages that answer the questions drivers ask, written so that AI assistants can quote them. James knew websites, and this was the part that impressed him.

How long did the new website take to bring in leads?
The first lead came through the website about a week after it went live. James told us he had a job four days in a row within the first couple of weeks.
Within nine weeks the site was on page one of Google for 394 searches, with 176 of them in the top three. (Source: Google Search Console, data to 30 September 2026.)
In its first month of tracking the site brought 26 enquiries by phone, form and WhatsApp. ChatGPT sent its first visitor on day 27, and on day 35 a visitor from ChatGPT filled in the enquiry form. (Source: Google Analytics, data to 30 September 2026.)
James wrote in his Google review: "Fixr Systems have been a pleasure to work with, very professional, knowledgeable and highly skilled at what they do. They managed to get the first lead through within 1-2 weeks, already have the site ranking on first pages and the website has played a big part in getting my new business moving. Will definitely be using Ben for more work as we continue to scale and bring on new systems."

What changed for the business after launch
Most of his leads now come from the website and his Google Business Profile. Enquiries also arrive from outside his original patch, and he is happy to take them.
Several of his customers have told him how good the website looks.
The enquiries now come in steadily enough that James is growing the business with confidence.
What does a new business need from its first website?
A website for a new business is only half the job. Settle the offer and the prices first, because a website can only sell what the business has made clear.
Then build the site to be found. That means a page for each thing you do and each place you do it, with your prices shown, and a Google Business Profile beside it.
We do both parts. Tell us what you are starting, and we will plan it and build it with you.
Tell us what you are starting, and we respond to enquiries within two working days.
Before you ask
How long does a new business website take to bring in leads?
It varies by business. SV Autos had its first lead through the website about a week after launch, and 26 enquiries by phone, form and WhatsApp in its first month of tracking.
Do I need a business plan before I get a website?
You need the offer, the prices and who it is for worked out. We do that with you as part of the build, as we did for SV Autos.
Can a brand new business rank on Google?
Yes. SV Autos was on page one of Google for 394 searches within nine weeks of launch, measured in Google Search Console.
